Who we are and how we work

The Tammy Wittren Team divides the loan process into three different phases, each supported by specific team members:

  • Pre-qualification & Pre-approval Team
  • Loan Processing to Close Team
  • Client Care & Business Development Team

Prequalification and preapproval team – Phase one

When Lisa, John, or Caryn reach out to a potential client, they introduce themselves as part of the Tammy Wittren Team. They will then provide the client with the purchase information they need so they can start the preapproval process for their home loan. The preapproval process starts over the phone and can last anywhere from 10-20 minutes. This process includes pulling credit and running the file through automated underwriting software.

Once the preapproval process is finished, Lisa, John, Caryn, or Tammy can complete the preapproval letter along with the cost estimates. When the client has found a home (whenever that might be) and has a negotiated offer in place, Lisa, John, Caryn, or Tammy can then lock the file. After this process is complete and the file has been locked into a program/interest rate, the file moves to the Loan processing to close team.

In her more than 25 years of real estate and lending experience, Tammy Wittren has seen it all. From assisting the nation’s top real estate agent as a licensed realtor, to becoming a top loan officer at both Guild Mortgage Company and Nationally (Scotsman Guide 2016), she has a detailed understanding of the industry from all angles.

Purchasing or refinancing a home is the biggest financial decision most people make in their lifetimes. Tammy is committed to educating her clients about the vast number of available loan products, while always keeping their current and future financial goals in mind. Continued education and active research enable her to structure loans that exactly suit her clients’ needs. Tammy and her team work tirelessly to build lasting relationships with their clients and realtors, based on mutual respect, trust, and loyalty; because people are important to them.

Lisa Riccobuono | Loan Partner | NMLS #243823 | Authorized to conduct business in OR state

Lisa hails from southern Oregon and brings nearly 30 years of lending experience to the Tammy Wittren team. She previously owned her own mortgage company for 12 years and is skilled in all aspects of the loan process. She has product knowledge along with experience in structuring and documenting many different types of loans including VA, FHA, and Conventional financing. Lisa’s organizational and communication skills, along with her creative approach to problem solving and attention to detail, produce a “stress free” experience for the customer.

John Bates | Loan Partner | NMLS #184541 | Authorized to conduct business in OR and WA state

John is an Oregon native and has been in the mortgage business since 1996. He has held positions at a wholesale lender, as a mortgage branch manager, and as a loan originator. Before that, he was a real estate agent for seven years. This breadth of experience helps John conduct smooth transactions and provide first-rate service to clients. Recognizing potential obstacles before they materialize is something in which he takes great pride.

Caryn Barney | Loan Partner | NMLS #694723 | Authorized to conduct business in OR State

A University of Oregon Alumni, Caryn initially pursued Sports Event Marketing for five years before entering the mortgage industry in 2003. She has since served as a Loan Officer for several banks including Chase, Wells Fargo, and US Bank previous to joining Guild. The team culture of Guild attracted her here and she am happy to be part of one of the strongest teams in the company. When not at work, Caryn spends time with her husband and two boys, outside or at the coast, engaging in all kinds of sports and outdoor activities.

Purchase contract to close team – Phase two

Purchase contract to close is best summarized as the formal loan application where all compliance documentation is created. The file is handed off to Bonnie or Tracy for the remainder of the process, where she is then the primary contact for the client. This will be where the final requests for sensitive documentation will be made, as the file is then prepared for final underwriting and approval.

The purchase contract to close procedure consists of ordering the appraisal, receiving title reports, as well as receiving and reviewing all current client income and asset documentation. This part of the process is complete after Bonnie or Tracy submits the file to final underwriting. They continue as the closing disclosure as well as final loan documents are created and work with escrow to get documents signed.

Bonnie Adams | Loan Partner | NMLS #952603 | Authorized to conduct business in OR state

Bonnie brings more than 14 years of mortgage experience to the team. She has worked as an underwriter, compliance analyst, and a processor, which gives her tremendous problem solving skills during the loan process. Bonnie works as the primary contact for the client and the realtor once the client has found a property and is under contract until the loan closes. In her spare time, Bonnie enjoys running and spending time with her son.

Tracy Calhoon | Loan Partner | NMLS #988562 | Authorized to conduct business in OR state

Tracy has been in the mortgage industry since 1991 and brings a wealth of knowledge from all aspects of the loan process to the team. Her underwriting experience helps her see through to the end of the transaction, giving her the ability to be resourceful and to solve problems before they arise. In her spare time, Tracy loves working on and rehabbing old homes. She also enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors.

Client care and business development team – Phase three

Victoria Bartley | Loan Partner| NMLS #1421444 | Authorized to conduct business in OR state

Victoria attended the University of Oregon and brings a strong background in public relations, organization, and management to the Wittren Team. She wears many hats for our team. Victoria is responsible for handling client databases, day-to-day Office Management, all Client and Realtor events, as well as post-close and ongoing communication with both Client and Realtor. Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.

Amanda O’Haver | Loan Partner | NMLS #1280643 | Authorized to conduct business in OR state

Amanda started in the mortgage industry in 2012 after graduating from the University of Oregon. She spent her first two years as a Corporate Marketing Coordinator, where she developed an understanding of the mortgage products and the loan process. Amanda truly enjoys helping clients see their dreams of homeownership become a reality. Outside of the office, she loves cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Keeping in touch

After the loan has funded, Communications and Marketing Assistant Victoria Bartley, submits the client into the team marketing database. This database receives monthly marketing material, invites to upcoming events, as well first payment information at the necessary time. As part of the Wittren Team marketing database, former clients receive invites to annual Summer & Christmas parties along with other special marketing functions.

While maintaining relationships with past clients is one of the key fundamentals to business development, establishing new relationships is just as imperative. Our team is continuously looking to add new realtor partnerships with agents who share the same level of commitment, to providing exceptional customer service.
